Meditation  is included in all CCY classes and workshops. The ancient sages did all the physical strength work (asana) specifically so they would be able to SIT for long periods of time expressly to meditate. The benefits are difficult to put into words. Give yourself this gift of awareness.

Meditation

Come to a seat
in a chair is fine or on the floor
raising your seat on a folded blanket
or a firm pillow
sitting bones rooted downward
crown of the head toward the sky
palms down on thighs
close your eyes

breathe in through your nose
breathe out through your mouth
as if trying to fog a mirror
breathe like that again
and again

listen to the sounds in the room
and outside the room
let the sounds blend together
like a symphony of sorts
allow yourself to meld into their vibration

thoughts will come
that's what our minds
are designed to do--think!
a still quiet mind is not the goal here

breathe in through your nose
breathe out through your nose
relax the muscles around your eyes
relax your jaw

observe your thoughts
be the witness to your thoughts
perhaps label them--
in one of two categories
past or future
and let them float away as if on a leaf
down a fast moving river

allow your awareness to return
to the sounds in your space
and the breath in and out of the nose

only this
only this
only this

An Ocean of Blessing Meditation. Inspired by Sally Kempton.

Yoga Nidra for Healing.
Get comfortable with a blanket and support for your head and give yourself space to rest.

Restorative Breath ®

Offered individually and for groups of up to 6.
This practice offers a sequential process of moving into stillness: first the body, then the breath, then the mind, and then emptying into the deep inner silence of meditation.  In this “inner quiet” we awaken to the quiet presence of the True Self and a deeper level of inner transformation available to us.

PRA—— primary, primal, original, underlies everything
ANA—-animating force

Prana is present in the miraculous beauty of a plant exploding from a seed through time lapse, and in the development of a baby from a tiny cell. Prana is a Divine Creative force which when enlivened creates endless possibility for health, vitality, clarity and vibrancy.  It’s present in a flower, majestic mountains, the oceans and it’s present in YOU. Prana is the origin of all things, it sustains and connects all things. Prana is the dynamic creative aspect of consciousness.

Studies have shown that as humans the information we are taking in through our senses is a very small percentage of the full reality.
Prana gives us the subtle receptivity to the rest.
Furthermore prana can be directed for healing, manifestation purposes and touching the part of us that is eternal.
